I always get very grumpy when I see suitcases and Susan is running around nervously while stuffing them with stacks of clothes. It gives me a bad feeling! A few weeks ago this happened again and sure enough: Susan and husband were leaving me! To go on ‘holiday’! What can be better than just being here with us, at home? But I have to admit I was not down very long, because something wonderful happened: my lovely aunt and uncle came to live with me and my brothers!
Aunt Louise and uncle Merrin are my favourite dog sitters in the whole world. Just like me, they like to explore the woods, even if there are no visible paths: very exciting. They also know exactly where to scratch me, take me with them everywhere and once they gave me a whole loaf of bread! Okay, the loaf of bread I actually stole, but what a good day that was…
But of course I was also very happy when one day I saw Susan and husband outside: they came back! Me and my brothers welcomed them and got very excited about all the wonderful smells on them. Even the suspicious suitcases, normally bad news, had to be inspected thoroughly. After a couple of hours the nasty suitcases were all empty again and stored away. Now we can relax once more: all is back to normal. I like it that way…
