It’s very cold outside. For Hong Kong standards, that is: about 10 degrees. A lot of people have been asking Susan why I’m not wearing a dog coat. Many dogs in Hong Kong wear them! But I really don’t like anything on my body, except for a collar (or hands massaging me)! I even still get a bit uncomfortable when Susan puts the little harness on me when we go biking. She gives me some treats (hoorah!) while putting it on, to make the whole harness thing a happy experience. Then I run one circle with my tail between my legs, and I try to get the harness off by scratching my body against a wall. But after 30 seconds or so I’m used to the weird feeling and ready to run next to the bike!
I have to say: this behaviour is already a big improvement. I used to be really scared of the harness and run around like crazy, fall over and cry when someone made me wear it. Now I’m getting more and more used to these straps around my body. But that’s it, no more things on me, no coats, please! Luckily Susan agrees my own fur coat is warm enough for me, especially since I’m always moving around when I’m outside. And inside, my bed is next to a heater, so I’m a happy, happy dog.
Last week I was snoozing just there, cozy and warm, when Susan tried to make me wear a Christmas hat. A dog harness or even a coat… that is one thing. But a hat?! That is just beyond silly. I had the thing on for about 3 seconds and then I walked away. Still Susan managed to take some pictures, poor me. Ah, the shame! But afterwards I got the dog lolly my human grandmother sent me for Christmas. So in the end I thought it was a good bargain…
